Synopsis:
The I Am Rockford Music video is part of an initiative started by the Rockford Housing Authority. The genre of the song is hip hop fused with contemporary gospel which makes for an upbeat anthem that the whole city of Rockford can relate to. The shoot will star several lead female vocalists and several young “friends” who will act as back up singers/dancers/talent. A contemporary gospel choir will also be featured and provide support for the lead vocalists. The diverse group of singers/actors will be seen in various different locations in Rockford, IL hanging out and simply living life.

Lead Scene Description: The leads will be seen moving through Rockford, IL in various well known locations around the city. The singers will record their voices in studio prior to the shooting of the video. The feel of the project is uplifting and soulful and leads will be asked to move in a way that is natural for them and will also learn simple choreography which will unite the group for certain parts of the video. It is important that the leads have the ability to engage the viewer through their individual personalities and expression. The leads must be confident in delivering a powerful declaration of a new start found in the song.

Dancer Scene Description: Our dancers will come in and out of shots featuring the leads and will be asked to freestyle as well as perform choreographed moves. They will be seen interacting with the leads and acting as “friends” throughout the video as well. The group of dancers is present in order to showcase diversity as well as add interest to the video.
